I want to help retirees. Social assistance to pensioners: targeted assistance, benefits

Antipyretics for children are prescribed by a pediatrician. But there are emergency situations for fever in which the child needs to be given medicine immediately. Then the parents take responsibility and use antipyretic drugs. What is allowed to be given to infants? How can you bring down the temperature in older children? What are the safest medicines?

Social assistance to pensioners is provided if the monthly income does not exceed the amount of the subsistence minimum established in the constituent entity of the Russian Federation. Also, certain categories of citizens can count on social assistance, which are listed in the Federal Law of July 17, 1999 No. 178-FZ "On State Social Assistance". Detailed information on persons entitled to social assistance is contained in article 7 of this law.

The procedure for assigning social assistance is as follows. First, you need to personally contact the local branch of the Pension Fund of Russia with an appropriate application, which should indicate what type of assistance you are applying for (types of social support will be discussed below). After submitting the application, a special commission will consider it and make a decision in your favor if you fall into the category of persons who are entitled to support.

Types of social assistance in the Russian Federation

What types of social assistance exist, everything is described in the same Federal Law No. 178-FZ, it can be cash payments, in-kind assistance or social supplement to pension, as well as comprehensive assistance:

  1. Cash payments can be assigned in three ways:

In the form of a social allowance, which is provided to citizens of retirement age free of charge at the expense of the budget;

In the form of a subsidy system, this means full or partial payment of social services provided to citizens;

In the form of monthly payments, which can be received either at the PFR branch, or by transfer to a personal account opened with a bank;

2. In-kind social assistance is provided to citizens of retirement age in the form of clothing, food, medicines, and so on.

3. Support for citizens in the form of a monthly social supplement to the pension (meaning an additional payment that increases the size of the pension to a value not lower than the subsistence level).

Moreover, we note that the social supplement to the pension can be federal and regional in nature. When appointing a federal monthly social supplement, the fact that the amount of the received pension is lower than the subsistence minimum established in a particular constituent entity of the Russian Federation is taken into account, but at the same time it should not exceed this value in Russia as a whole. As for the regional supplement to the pension, it is established by the authorized regional body in the event that the material security of the pensioner is below the level of the subsistence minimum established for the current year, the value of which is higher than in Russia as a whole.

It should also be noted that, according to the current legislation, the following values of the subsistence minimum for 2015 and 2016 are set - these are 7161 rubles and 7476 rubles, respectively. These amounts are taken into account when calculating the amount of social supplement to pension.

What is a comprehensive social support package

A comprehensive set of social support includes the following items:

Providing a pensioner with medicines and medicines that he needs, but cannot purchase on his own;

In the presence of medical indications, the pensioner can use the right of treatment in the sanatorium-resort area. This right can be used no more than once per calendar year;

Payment for travel or subsequent reimbursement of funds spent on the way to the sanatorium and back (tickets for the train, river or sea transport, as well as bus and air transport can be paid).

The list of persons who have the right to provide a range of social services is determined by Federal Law No. 178 of July 17, 1999, these include:

  1. Participants and veterans of the Great Patriotic War;
  2. Disabled and combat veterans;
  3. Servicemen, awarded orders or medals, who served in military units from July 22, 1941 to September 3, 1945, which did not have the status of an active army;
  4. Persons, participants of the Great Patriotic War, awarded with the honorary badge "Inhabitant of the besieged Leningrad";
  5. WWII participants who served at air defense facilities, as well as participated in the construction of defensive barriers and structures for naval bases of troops and airfields located near rear borders;
  6. Family members of the deceased invalids of the Great Patriotic War, as well as veterans from among the persons who are part of the special self-defense groups of teams carrying out air defense, in addition, family members of the deceased veterans of the Great Patriotic War, carrying out their professional activities in hospitals in Leningrad;
  7. Disabled people.

The procedure for applying for pensioners for the appointment of state social assistance

  1. Familiarization with the list of provided state social services, as well as with the list of citizens who have the right to use them, in order to determine your attitude towards them. In addition, at the initial stage, you need to decide what kind of benefit you are entitled to and what you will apply for. If you cannot figure out the official language of the law on your own, then you should contact your local social service for help and explanations (free of charge).
  2. Next, you need to write an application with a request for the provision of social support and transfer it to the territorial body of the PFR personally, through your representative. The application can be written by hand, or in electronic format, but using a special digital signature. In addition to the application, you must submit copies of documents confirming your right to benefits (pension certificate; document confirming the disability group or other documents);
  3. After the FIU body receives your package of documents, within 10 days, a decision will be made about whether you qualify for the category of citizens who are entitled to social assistance or not. You may also be notified that additional verification of the information you specified is necessary; in such a development of events, the FIU has the right to extend the period for consideration of your documents for up to 30 days. In addition, in case of refusal, you must explain in detail the reason. If you do not agree with the refusal, then within 5 days you can submit a complaint to the same authority in which you were refused, but to the higher authorities. If a refusal is received again, and you are still confident that you are right, then the problem can be solved only in court.

The issues of social security of society have always been and will be relevant for all strata of the population of our country. This article will consider a number of points related to such a category of citizens as pensioners.

Taking into account recent events and adopted laws, elderly people are even more concerned about how to get social assistance for pensioners. . People are becoming more and more puzzled by receiving various kinds of assistance from the state. This is supported by the fact that in most cases, payments made on a monthly basis are not enough for a comfortable stay.

In order to receive the cherished services and the provision of material assistance to pensioners from the bodies of social protection of the population, you must first of all be included in the list of persons who are entitled to this assistance.

Which pensioners can count on support?

Unfortunately, retirement is not enough to receive assistance in obtaining material aid and a number of services from the state. In addition, you need to approach one of the criteria. A person can hope to receive support if they:

  • A lonely pensioner without a job, whose income does not compare with twice the minimum subsistence level;
  • Disabled pensioner and unemployed pensioner who lives with relatives or a spouse, where the profit for each family member is less than two times the minimum subsistence level;
  • A non-working pensioner who is entitled to a payment from the department. In this case, you will need to provide a document that confirms the fact of providing or not providing assistance.

Benefits and tax breaks for retirees

Tax incentives for retirees in relation to property, transport and land are listed in the picture:

If you look at the issue, you can come to the conclusion that the state is really trying to meet the vulnerable segments of the population and pensioners among them. In 2018, a number of preferential services are provided for them, which you just need to know about in order to use them:

  • Return travel fares are reimbursed. This works for retired northerners who have retired due to old age or disability.
  • The ability to transfer part of the property tax deductions for personal income tax to the past periods of tax collections. In this case, a pensioner who buys a home or any other real estate can return part of the money spent on it.
  • Property tax exemption.
  • Possibility not to pay personal income tax.

The following picture is about personal income tax for pensioners:

  • Free of charge to undergo training or improve their qualifications for retirees who want to work further.
  • Public transport benefits.

How can a pensioner get help?

To get help from the state, you need to perform a number of the following actions:

  • Collecting the required documents. The list of necessary documents is specified on the website of the social protection authorities or during a personal visit to the municipality;
  • Filling out an application;

What the application form looks like, see the picture:

  • Waiting for consideration of the application. The procedure can take up to 30 working days. Edits and adjustments in the application can be made only in the first 10 days;
  • When approving the application, indicate the details for the withdrawal of funds / benefits;
  • In case of refusal, it makes sense to re-apply, or contact a higher authority.

What you need to know about targeted assistance to single pensioners?

First of all, this is help, which will be given priority to people who find themselves in a difficult life situation. This assistance does not have to be in cash. In addition to finance, basic necessities can be distinguished: food, shoes, personal hygiene items, clothing, fuel. For disabled people and those who need outside care, special technical equipment can also be issued.

Responsibility for rendering such assistance as targeted assistance to pensioners is assigned to regional authorities. At the local government level, depending on the documents available and the capabilities of these authorities, there is an opportunity to discuss the size, type and method of obtaining support. To receive targeted assistance, you must meet all the same conditions as for receiving other types of assistance.

Watch a report about targeted assistance to retirees:

The blacklist of reasons for providing targeted assistance includes:

  • gasification of residential (private) premises owned by the pensioner himself;
  • a pensioner has a flood or fire in a residential building;
  • the death of someone from close relatives (if the funeral was not carried out free of charge);
  • theft of property belonging to a pensioner;
  • payment for expensive medical services or drugs prescribed by a doctor's prescription;
  • assistance in buying household appliances (only for one item to choose from: TV, gas, electric stove, washing machine, refrigerator, computer (if you prove that it is really necessary));
  • assistance in purchasing an air conditioner for lonely disabled pensioners , having problems caused by bronchopulmonary diseases or cardiovascular diseases;
  • purchase of items of increased need.

Need to know! In addition to the above types, pensioners have the right to financial one-time one-time assistance.

Cash payments

The list of those who are entitled to one-time financial assistance from the state includes citizens who have lost their breadwinner, pensioners due to disability, as well as people who do not have a pension due to lack of work experience.

Who is entitled to a one-time payment of pension savings, see the picture:

How much money is due?

The amount of monetary allowance when making a lump sum depends on the amount of pension savings (SPN). For citizens born before 1967, the SPN was formed over three years (2002-2004). In this regard, the size of the payment will be from 5 to 15 tons.

Preferential exemptions for housing and communal services for pensioners

In order to be able to take advantage of preferential programs for pensioners in the housing sector, first of all, you must have in your hands a certificate confirming that you are a pensioner. In addition, one of the following must occur:

  • payment for utility services takes more than 22% of the income of the family in which the pensioner lives, or from his own income, if the pensioner is single;
  • in the event of recognition of the participation (disability) of a pensioner in the Great Patriotic War, the blockade of the city of Leningrad, a discount of 50% of the cost of housing and communal services is entitled;
  • a similar benefit is also provided for pensioners who suffered at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the Semipalatinsk test site, military personnel who received disability during their service, as well as labor veterans;
  • a 50% discount on utility bills is also eligible for pensioners who are disabled and rent housing in accordance with a social rent agreement;
  • pensioners with the title of Hero of Social Labor pay 50% of utilities. Instead of a preferential imposition, the right to receive monetary compensation is also relied on (a payment benefit is issued in cash in hand).

Benefits in the field of medical care

The legislative base of the Russian Federation contains provisions that provide for support for pensioners in the form of compensation for the cost of medicines in order to eliminate the disease. For each drug, you must have a prescription written by your doctor. The list of benefits is as follows:

  • elderly people who have retired by age, but have not received the status of a disabled person, can count on a 50% discount on medicines from a special list;
  • According to the law, a local polyclinic conducts a free examination for pensioners every 3 years;
  • all pensioners are provided with a free flu vaccination service.

Public transport benefits

This type of benefits is available for all categories of people at retirement age. But compensations are not allowed for intercity transportation (with the exception of pensioners from the Northern District for travel to places of rest and back). All reimbursements for this benefit apply only to the use of municipal transport. This means that the pensioner will not receive a discount in taxis, minibuses and private traders.

The amount and method of issuing compensatory funds change every year and are regulated by both federal and regional authorities. Therefore, for clarification of information on how to obtain compensatory funds, it is worth contacting the place of location / residence.

Benefits for Labor Veterans and Disabled Persons

The list of benefits offered to Labor Veterans is regulated by each constituent entity of the Russian Federation independently. But from what is available today, it is possible to form approximately the following general picture of the list of benefits:

  • In all types of urban transport, travel is free of charge;
  • Commercial services are paid at a rate of 50%;
  • Leave will be granted at any time;
  • Dentures are manufactured and repaired on a free basis in public medical institutions;
  • Medical services are free of charge.

In addition to the above benefits, each entity makes its own adjustments. To clarify questions, you should contact the territorial offices of the PF.

A complete list of benefits for Labor Veterans is presented in the picture:

If a pensioner is disabled, then you can rely not only on monetary compensation, but also on benefits that will greatly help to make the life of a person with disabilities easier. Preferential list for disabled people:

  • In the medical field, as previously stated, half the cost of prescription drugs. Orthopedic footwear is charged a forty percent cost;
  • Treatment in sanatoriums in resorts is provided at half the cost;
  • When you go to court, there is a chance to get a tax cut;
  • City transport is allowed free of charge (except for taxis). Half the cost of a Russian Railways ticket in both directions, or a free ticket once every two years;
  • Also utility bills are paid at 50%. In addition, there is an opportunity to receive assistance in improving the quality of living conditions on a first-come, first-served basis.

# GenerousTuesday is an opportunity to do something meaningful for different people. Fortunately, recently there are more and more people who are ready to help not only children, but also the elderly.

We have developed special instructions on how you can help lonely elderly people with the greatest benefit for them.

Why help?

Helping the elderly is not the most popular area of charity, often people start thinking about them mainly on May 9 and on the New Year. People bring or give gifts and again forget about the old people. But the main contradiction is that even in the presence of material difficulties, grandparents most of all need not gifts and things, but constant attention and participation.

In particular, help is needed for lonely elderly people with limited mobility and those who live in nursing homes.

Assistance in nursing homes

Nursing homes are an inevitable phenomenon: some are left without relatives, are weakened and cannot serve themselves, some have relatives who have left for another city, others have relatives, but there is not enough living space and the opportunity to care for the elderly. What is life in a state institution at the expense of the state? This is a roof over your head, breakfast-lunch-dinner and someone else's bathrobe after a general wash.

Old people living in boarding houses do not just remain outside of life, they cease to exist for the outside world. They live somewhere out there, often forgotten, alone and completely devoid of attention. In total, there are more than 2,000 nursing homes and institutions in Russia, where more than 10,000 lonely old people live.

The main problems of an elderly person in a nursing home are loneliness, lack of personal space and absolute free time with nothing to occupy. Walkers have the opportunity to go to the lobby to see the TV or to the store, take a walk around the territory. Those who are lying are forced to lie down and, if they are lucky, listen to the radio or TV - whoever has them in the ward. They are visited only by a nurse who brings food and most often silently and hurriedly feeds from a spoon, because she has 30 more people in line.

Of course, hobbies and hobbies are not prohibited in the nursing home, and there are real craftsmen among the grandparents. But who, for example, will buy yarn for grandmother? And what if 75% of her pension goes to the boarding school, and for the rest she wants to buy something tasty. Or, the rest of the money can be given to nurses altogether - for additional services, such as an extra diaper change or a trip to the store.

Helping the elderly at home

Many elderly people living at home also need help - with housework, medical care, etc. They need attention and communication. But in this case, a number of difficulties arise. The first is to find contacts and establish access to the apartment. No services under the law on personal data ever give addresses and phone numbers of elderly people.

If, nevertheless, you managed to get to know your grandfather or grandmother and start helping, then the family may be wary and mistrustful of the person who for some reason began to come to their elderly relative. Unfortunately, these fears are not always in vain, especially given the widespread use of fraudulent schemes.

In addition, it may seem to an elderly person that after the visit of a volunteer, something is missing in the house, and then the volunteer may have problems - he is not protected from such situations in any way. During a visit, an elderly person may become ill. That is, the volunteer must be prepared for many situations.

Thus, when it comes to a person living at home, it is very difficult to organize permanent assistance, training of a volunteer is required, contact with social services (most elderly people living at home, if necessary, receive the services of a social worker), regulation of the relationship "volunteer - ward" how something by agreement. Of course, this can only be done by an organization with work experience. For example, a network of assistance to the elderly is developed in the Red Cross organization.

What is needed first?

  • For the elderly, personal attention, care and respect, creative employment are important

One of the biggest problems of the elderly in nursing homes is apathy and indifference to the surrounding reality, up to "loss of personality", when elderly people answer "what they say, we will do" and calmly perceive the absence of locks on the doors, rude behavior with themselves and poor material conditions.

For the staff, people who have to be cleaned every day, who, moreover, have their own "oddities" and whims, also lose their individuality, and together with fatigue, sometimes cause neglect. According to the staff, the boarding school can have 2-3 nurses for 50 bedridden people, and the staff physically lacks the strength to communicate and pay attention. So it turns out that a person has no personal space, he is dependent, and no one is interested in his needs.

Older people often withdraw into themselves and soon enough lose the motivation to do anything at all. To avoid this and return them to their interest in life and the feeling of being individuals, communication, comfortable conditions, and proper care are necessary. Therefore, it is so important to communicate with grandparents, to give them the opportunity to feel respect for themselves.

It is especially important to give the residents of the boarding school the opportunity to be creative and express themselves, to make their brain work, because after so many years of forced idleness, old people lose the habit of having to think and do anything. For example, the Old Age in Joy Foundation hires culture workers and art therapists to work with older people who first resist, and then begin to create with enthusiasm, prepare for new activities and present their works at exhibitions.

Seniors who live independently also need communication and creativity. The charities that help them involve them in a variety of creative and intellectual pursuits.

  • Material and household problems

The conditions in which people live in boarding schools are far from comfortable. Many nursing homes, primarily in the regions, are often in a state of disrepair. The interior of the institutions is very far from our ideas about comfort - state walls painted with paint, unrepaired bathrooms, an overgrown courtyard, and also 3-4 more roommates. Therefore, any grain of attention and care for these people is real joy and happiness. Older people living independently, especially in small towns or rural areas, have material and everyday problems that can be helped to solve. For example, elderly people often need help with their daily needs - cleaning the yard, bringing water, cleaning the apartment / house.

How can you help?

To help effectively, not to harm and not to find difficulties and problems, you need to join experienced organizations or groups. Or start helping a well-known person, a neighbor.

You can:

1. Regularly, and not only on holidays, pay attention and help some elderly person.

  • Go to visit grandparents in a nursing home. Every weekend you can join a volunteer trip, take part in a concert, sing songs, bring sweet gifts and cheer up grandparents.
  • Become a "penpal grandson". After all, many old people are lonely, and postcards and letters become real strings connecting complete strangers from different parts of the world.

2. Help with buying basic necessities (food, medicine, bed care products) or help with house cleaning, cooking, etc.

  • Purchase the necessary things that volunteers can take to orphanages or give to those in need:
    - for boarding schools: diapers, personal care items, rehabilitation products, etc.), medical equipment;
    - for those living at home, the list is formed in each specific situation upon request.
  • Go to a distant village, bring food to lonely old people, raise funds and buy firewood for the winter.
  • Send a food parcel to poor old people living in the countryside, because in the regions the pension is sometimes minimal, and lonely grandparents living in their homes are sometimes beyond the edge of poverty. For example, the community http://together.ru/ offers a variety of initiatives for those who want to help the elderly in a targeted manner. This includes the collection of food parcels, home repair and cleaning, etc. These initiatives work on demand, word of mouth or in cooperation with social protection authorities.
  • You can join the action "Give firewood"

How to help the elderly

In this article, you will learn:

    Why it is so important to help the elderly

    How volunteers help the elderly

    How to help an elderly person at home and in a boarding school

    How you can help older people through social funds

Usually, everyone thinks about how to help the elderly on the eve of the big All-Russian holidays - Victory Day or New Year. Volunteers, social workers, distant and sometimes even close relatives "raid" an elderly person, give gifts and run away again on urgent matters.

And few people think about what is much more expensive than material gifts, attention and sympathy for the elderly. And even for those who are really experiencing financial difficulties. This is especially true for people who are limited by the cramped world of a nursing home or cannot independently leave the apartment and at least go down to the entrance to communicate with their peers. Let's talk about how to help the elderly?

How to help seniors at home

Very often you can help the elderly with household chores - cleaning, washing, buying food and medicine, just talking and caring. But at the same time, it is often especially difficult to help the elderly at home. There are many reasons. For example, first you need to find a person who would really need such help. These people do not go out (otherwise they can already be considered independent and do not need support), it is also impossible to get addresses and phone numbers through social services - these structures do not disclose the personal data of their wards.

But even if you find a person who needs your assistance, that's half the battle. As soon as you start helping an elderly person, relatives will definitely intervene. And they can be understood - for no reason at all, a stranger suddenly began to go to the apartment of an elderly relative! And if it's a scammer? Considering that there are quite a few swindlers today, relatives have the right to doubt, agree. Let's say you've managed to convince your family that you really just want to help an elderly person. And you found a lonely old man.

But even this does not guarantee getting rid of the problems. For example, after a volunteer came to an apartment, an elderly person may lose something (or it will seem to him that something is missing). At the same time, the volunteer is absolutely defenseless, he cannot prove his innocence.

When helping an elderly person at home, you need to be prepared for another emergency situation - a person may suddenly become ill, and the volunteer should be ready to take immediate action.

Many people may get the impression that it is generally impossible to help an elderly person at home. This is not so, you just need to establish contact with social protection services, relatives, formalize your relationship with the ward with a special agreement, and even easier - contact a large volunteer organization, which has already worked out a mechanism for helping the elderly.

Helping Seniors in Government Nursing Homes

Today in Russia there are more than 2,000 thousand nursing homes, in which more than ten thousand old people live permanently. How does a person end up in a nursing home? Everyone has different circumstances. Someone in his declining years was left completely alone, without relatives, and cannot take care of himself. Others have living relatives, but they do not want to support and care for the old man. In others, the children have left for the country and have forgotten about the elderly parent. The purpose of our article is not to condemn people who abandoned their old people, but to find out how to help the elderly, including in nursing homes. Therefore, we will not talk about the reasons, we will talk about the consequences.

In a nursing home, an elderly person is cut off from the outside world. Someone does not want to go beyond their little world, and someone cannot do this. In this case, the whole life of older people is limited to joint breakfasts, lunches, dinners, simple entertainments like watching TV and listening to the radio. In general, an elderly person who finds himself in a nursing home seems to cease to exist for the outside world. It is especially difficult in such a situation for bedridden patients - they do not even have the opportunity to go out into the courtyard and breathe fresh air.

In nursing homes, many find it difficult even to engage in hobbies - knitting, embroidery, sawing, etc. And not because it is prohibited. It's just that three-quarters of the pension goes to the nursing home itself for the maintenance of the patient, and the remaining quarter - for little tasty pleasures or for the staff in general - for going to the store, for example, or extra cleaning in the ward. So, the "guests" really need our help. How can older people be helped in nursing homes?

  • Attention, care and respect, creative employment.

Finding themselves in unfamiliar conditions, elderly people often react to a change in the familiar environment with apathy, complete indifference to themselves and everything that surrounds them. This apathy can - and often does - lead to so-called “loss of identity”. As a result, nursing home patients lose their own opinions, are ready to do “whatever they say,” begin to put up with the rudeness of the staff, poor material support, bad food, etc.

The same thing happens with the staff. Taking care of dozens of patients every day as part of their professional duties, they cease to respect them and even "distinguish" between them. All merge into a solid mass, which is even physically unrealistic to serve, not to pay attention to the needs, needs and wishes of each patient, to the lack of live human communication and attention.

Why is it important to help older people in nursing homes? Together with the “loss of personality”, a person completely loses motivation for life. Older people withdraw into themselves, withdrawn, cease to feel like individuals who deserve respect. Helping elderly people in this case means returning them the joy of communication, making them feel needed and useful again.

How exactly can older people be helped in nursing homes? It's actually quite simple. You need to give them to show their skills, talents, make them think, if possible - do something. Various simple creative tasks are well suited for this. For example, the Old Age in Joy Foundation invites culture organizers and art therapists to the elderly. At first, the elderly people, who have fallen into apathy, internally resist the pursuit of creativity, but then the process is extremely fascinating to them. They are looking forward to the continuation of their studies, they begin to present their works to the public.

Is there a way to help older people living outside a nursing home in the same way? Sure. For those living on their own, charities also provide creative and intellectual pursuits.

  • Help with your hands.

Helping elderly people in nursing homes is possible not only with attention, but also corny - with your hands. Nursing homes are often a rather sad sight. Not only does the whole furnishings speak of the state of the house, but also cosmetic repairs have been made far from every nursing home. Therefore, the elderly also need help with the household - repairs, cutting the grass in the yard, repairs in the wards, etc.

How to personally help the elderly

1. You can help the elderly on a regular basis, not just occasionally. If you are ready, there are some simple ways to help older people.

    You can visit the elderly on your own or by joining a volunteer trip. Volunteers usually organize concerts for their wards, think about whether you should take part too? Something to sing, read poetry, play a scene, etc. A concert plus sweet gifts - and now the grandparents are smiling, their spirits have lifted.

    It will cost you nothing at all to be a "penpal grandson." Is that the cost of an envelope. Lonely elderly people are happy with any news from the world, they will look forward to your letters and postcards. At the same time, it does not matter at all where you live, because ordinary letters sent by mail connect the most different corners of the globe.

2. You can help older people living on their own and in nursing homes with money. Let's talk about financial assistance.

    You can buy essential items and take them to nursing homes, or give the package to volunteers. What do you need to buy?

      nursing homes usually need adult diapers, personal care items, medical equipment;

      those who live independently also have their own needs. You need to find out before buying.

    You can visit old people in a remote village, buy them a supply of food, chop wood for the winter.

    Remember that low-income retirees do not only live in your city. There are especially many of them in the villages where they live out their days, unable to leave. You can collect a food parcel and send it to those in need.

To make your initiative useful and reach the right addressee, look for like-minded people on the Internet. For example, the Tugueza community can offer many options for charitable assistance to the elderly to choose from. In addition to financial support, you can help older people with repairs, cleaning, laundry, etc.

    You can regularly follow the ongoing charity events. For example, "Give Firewood" - an action, the purpose of which was to raise funds for old people living in houses with stove heating.

    A good way to help the elderly would be a corporate clean-up at a nursing home. Its meaning is to make cosmetic repairs and equip the territory of the nursing home as soon as possible with the help of several dozen people - to break flower beds, clean paths, put up benches for walking, etc.

3. Patients of a nursing home who can walk, as well as single elderly people living on their own, can be taken to places that are important to them. Usually this is a cemetery - to visit the graves of relatives and friends, a clinic, a church.

4. You can help older people to get some services through electronic programs, help to understand the technique.

5. If you have no time for personal assistance, you can help older people by making a donation to their benefit. The money will go to pay for care assistants, nannies.

I want to help the elderly. Where to begin?

To get started, you can contact a charitable organization. There are charitable foundations that specialize specifically in helping the elderly - "Old Age in Joy", "Sofia", "Good Deed", "Union of Generations". Many organizations are involved in charity in several areas, including helping the elderly. ("Tradition", Orthodox Relief Service "Mercy",
