Sundress on spaghetti straps with a T-shirt pattern. Summer sundress pattern - long and short models

Antipyretics for children are prescribed by a pediatrician. But there are emergency situations for fever in which the child needs to be given medicine immediately. Then the parents take responsibility and use antipyretic drugs. What is allowed to be given to infants? How can you bring down the temperature in older children? What are the safest medicines?

Stylish hairstyle, neatness, makeup and fashionable clothes help the fair sex to look good. Haute couture items are expensive, and not every woman can afford them. There is a way out of this situation - to sew things for yourself with your own hands.

Today it is not necessary to attend special courses to learn how to make products. There are ready-made schemes that everyone can use.

Making a pattern of things for the summer on your own is a process that does not present any difficulties.

Easy tailoring for the summer

Before you get down to business, you need to prepare the material, threads and needles. Let a photo of a sundress with your own hands from a fashion magazine serve as a source of inspiration for you. In this case, you do not need to create a complex pattern.

For a chic sundress, dreams are needed:

  • T-shirt;
  • needle;
  • threads;
  • fabric for summer clothes.

You can use a sewing machine, but without it you won't have to spend many hours sewing.

We sew a summer sundress without a pattern

Taking the shirt, trace its outline. When it is important that the thing is exactly on the figure, make the pattern on a newspaper or large sheet. If the left side looks asymmetrical from the right side, it can be easily corrected by folding the resulting pattern in half.

Be sure to add so-called seam allowances. To do this, step back from the drawn lines by 1.5 cm and draw an additional one more. Cut out the homemade pattern along the construction line.

What nuances do you need to know about?

Ladies with large breasts need to make the front half of the product longer than the back.
Seam allowances must be made.

Having cut out a pattern from the fabric, the product must be swept along the allowances. Try it on in front of the mirror. Correct it and sweep again if necessary.

If this time the thing fits well, then you can sew a summer sundress with your own hands. Now the skill of working as a seamstress will also come in handy in order to sew a product along the basting seams.

What to do with the neck and openings?

This area can be easily processed. Stitch the folded edge to the garment. For a smart finish, use a bias tape. But training is needed here.

It turns out that it is not difficult to sew a sundress with your own hands if you wish. Even those who have no experience at all can make it.

Summer sundresses sewn by home craftswomen are popular. Exclusive items look beautiful and unusual.

A representative of the fair sex who wears a hand-sewn garment looks unique. She is the owner of the original thing that no one else has.

Second life for a men's shirt

If the craftswoman has no experience at all, then she may not buy material for a sundress, but update her wardrobe thanks to an old men's shirt. In this case, you will not have to work with patterns.

Cut off the collar with sleeves from the shirt; you will need to draw straight lines on these patches. Their width should be 4.5 cm, and their length should be the distance from the shoulder blades to the armpits. These are blanks for the straps of the future product.

Decorative elements

A unique piece of clothing allows you to make a bright decor. It will become more attractive if you add a contrasting stripe under the bust.

Take a piece of brightly colored fabric with a wrap-around length under the bust. Sew the element carefully onto the sewing fabric. Attach the straps to the sundress.

It remains to process the neck with armholes. A simple way is to fold the edges and sew. To make processing with an oblique inlay, you cannot do without training.

Flounce decoration

It will take no more than an hour to make beautiful flounces on the shoulders.

Take a fabric with a width of 150 cm and fold it in half. Get out your favorite jersey and circle on the material. It remains to flare the product to the bottom and do not forget about the seam allowances.

The shuttlecock is made separately. Prepare 2 strips of fabric 25 cm wide and 2 m long and sew them together. The shuttlecock will keep its shape perfectly if one of its edges is processed with a bias tape.

On the other side of the shuttlecock, the fabric must be gathered in such a way that it is the same as the length of the cut. The product is connected with a flounce, and a stylish sundress is ready.

Women who have never sewed before can create unique things with their own hands. An elegant summer dress does not require complex patterns.

Photo of a sundress with your own hands

To sew a beautiful dress for the summer, it is not necessary to have a specialized education or dressmaking skills. Also, old school grades obtained during drawing or mathematics lessons do not matter, because there are patterns for summer dresses and sundresses for beginners and with their help you can create beautiful clothes with your own hands. To do this, simply make some calculations and transfer the pattern to the fabric.

How to choose the most suitable cut?

Before creating a pattern for a summer dress or sundress, choose the most suitable style, taking into account:

  • features of the figure;
  • the desired silhouette of the outfit;
  • used material.

For example, skinny girls can afford to wear almost any dress: tight-fitting and free-form, regardless of the stiffness of the fabric. In this case, when making patterns, add a few centimeters to your hips and chest, especially if you are using stiff fabric. Thanks to these tricks, the dress will turn out to be quite loose, and the skirt will emphasize fragility and slenderness.

It is better for owners of curvaceous forms to sew products from a hard fabric that drapes poorly, and choose outfits of an adjacent style. If you add too much stiff fabric on the hips, the dress will look baggy and add even more volume. Such additions can only be done with a thin fabric that drapes well. Long outfits look great, slightly flared at the bottom.

For girls with pronounced shapes - large breasts and bulging buttocks, you can safely sew fitted knitted dresses. Such a product will be able to "sit down" correctly, emphasizing the beauty of the forms.

DIY summer dresses and sundresses: patterns

Necessary materials:

  • pencil with ruler;
  • tracing paper;
  • centimeter;
  • a thin piece of soap or chalk;
  • scissors;
  • the cloth;
  • ribbon or beautiful rope;
  • pins;
  • paper or old wallpaper.
  1. First you need to draw a regular rectangle. Its size depends on the length of the outfit, as well as on how fitted the dress is. The back length should match the front of the product.
  2. Then you need to sew the seams located on the sides, decorating the upper part of the product as a drawstring.
  3. Inside the drawstring, it remains to insert a tape, which will then be tied on the shoulder.

These simple patterns for summer dresses and sundresses can be used to create a fitted outfit. To do this, you need to take a stretch fabric, since it fits the figure tightly. If there is no such fabric, then you can fit the dress by bending the line of the side seams at the waist (in the photo this is indicated by a blue dotted line). In this case, an invisible zipper must be sewn in at the waist.

  1. First, you need to cut off a rectangle, the length of which can be more than two meters. In this case, one must take into account their own dimensions, as well as the desired "density" of the folds. The planned length of the outfit affects the height of the rectangle.
  2. The dress only has one seam in the back.
  3. To get the neckline, you need to make a small incision in the very center (about 10 cm).
  4. The upper part of the fabric is decorated, as in the previous model, by stretching two ropes or ribbons into the drawstring. The ends of these tapes must be sewn in at the back, and at the front they must go out to the very center. It turns out that putting on a dress, you will tie them around your neck.
  5. You can use most of the ribbon as a belt by tying the dress just below your bust.

The main thing when creating this model is to choose the right material. The fabric should form soft folds and be thin enough. Knitwear, satin, several types of crepe, and silk have similar properties. It is enough to try the fabric by touch: when it flows, forming folds, as if flowing, then you can safely buy it.

  1. When sewing summer dresses and sundresses with your own hands, it is very easy to make patterns: you need to take a T-shirt of a suitable size, circle it on the back of the old wallpaper. Around the resulting contour, you can start drawing your outfit.
  2. If the left half is slightly different from the right, it doesn't matter. You can draw one half at first, but to achieve symmetry on both sides, just bend it in the middle.
  3. Owners of large breasts or pregnant women should make the front of the product a little longer, because it will pull up a little in the front, which will make the dress look ugly. It is better to make the front part longer and trim off the excess during fitting if the outfit will fit well.
  4. Having drawn a pattern, you need to cut it out and transfer it to the fabric.
  5. The shoulder and side seams are first swept by hand for fitting: if the dress fits well, then you can sew them with a typewriter.
  6. It remains to process the armholes with the neckline. For this, the edges are beautifully folded inward. You can purchase a bias tape to use on the neckline.

You need to choose fabric for such an outfit according to the same principle as for the aforementioned model. The material used must be thin enough. Choosing too hard fabric, you get a trapezoidal sundress, which will "stand with a stake."

Patterns of dresses and sundresses

Fashion designer

Hello dear readers! Here is the long-awaited summer. How nice it is to expose your face, arms, shoulders to warm gentle rays ... walk barefoot on the silk young grass or hot sand, and a fresh light breeze will gently wave your hair ... It's time to sew a new summer dress, certainly with a wide skirt, so pleasantly flowing over legs, and shoulders exposed to the sun. It's about a sundress. The sundress is perhaps the most favorite thing in the summer wardrobe of any woman. Being indispensable on vacation, it can also be easily used in an everyday city, and the most strict versions of a sundress have found a place even in boring office life (remember Pierre Cardin and his famous cloth sundress in 1965, worn on a thin black turtleneck). Today we will talk and help you create a pattern for a summer sundress with your own hands. And the inspiration for our lesson will be the national Russian sundress.

History of the Russian sundress.

The Internet tells us that in Russia the first sundress appeared in the XIV century, and was a traditional dress not only for women, but also for men ... as well as for persons of completely different class and position on the social ladder, it was worn by peasants and princes. It took three centuries for the sundress to become only a female element of the wardrobe, and already in the 17th century, the sundress became known in all the provinces of our country, then it was a long swinging sleeveless garment, decorated with embroidery, ribbons, braid, a sundress was worn on white linen shirt. Different fabrics were used, so simple peasant girls were content with chintz, while wealthy families used expensive velvet, silk fabrics, brocade.

See what stunningly beautiful girls in smart sarafans from different provinces (Arkhangelsk, Kursk, Penza ..) all photos from the collection of N. Shabelskaya from the collection of the Russian Ethnographic Museum.

While preparing for the article, I found such interesting information about the Russian sarafan: “ The careful attitude of the peasants to their clothes is also confirmed by the fact that in especially festive sundresses, the peasant women not only did not sit down at the table, but did not even sit down on the bench, fearing to stain or wrinkle such a hard-won outfit. At the wedding, the bride in the most expensive sundress was taken out to the guests by the arms, after which she was taken away and changed into a less expensive one. Woolen festive outfits were not washed or ironed at all, they were kept neatly folded in special chests - large linden boxes. " source https://ivanka.club/ Yes, fabrics in those days were really expensive, I immediately recall an excerpt from Andrei Smirnov's film “There Was One Woman Once”, where the main character changes a piece of fabric for a cow! It's great that those days have passed and now we can afford to choose and buy any fabric we like to make a beautiful dress out of it! With the help of our site, you can do it with ease, do not deny yourself such pleasure.

Many famous designers find inspiration by studying Russian folk costume. As a result, from year to year we can see collections inspired by marvelous beauty and imagery, created with a constant interest in Russian culture and traditions. Here are some models of sundresses from the collections of Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Slava Zaitsev, Alberta Ferretti, Chanel.

Actual models of a sundress

Modern fashion is very fond of the sundress and offers us many of its variations. It can be long, short dresses, multi-layered and multi-tiered, with wide straps, with narrow straps or without them at all, with an open back, with a neckline ... it is impossible to list everything. We can only choose according to our taste.

Modeling the pattern of a summer sundress

We invite you to sew a summer sundress from the collectionDolce & Gabbana. Spring 2016.

This wonderful summer dress from the latest collection of the famous brand impressed with its simplicity, but at the same time, originality. It is very reminiscent of a Russian sundress, moreover, it has a traditional cut, having mastered which each of you can sew a beautiful fashionable sundress with your own hands. And by changing some details of the sundress pattern (for example, the width and place of attachment of the straps, by the way, it is possible without straps, by putting an elastic band along the upper cut of the bodice, the length, width of the skirt, etc.), you can diversify the models created on its basis. Believe me, even a novice dressmaker can do such simple changes in this simple design.

Consider a technical drawing. The sundress consists of a close-fitting bodice with wide buttoned straps and a wide skirt gathered at the waist just below the knees. There is a zipper on the back, and the bodice is decorated in front with a decorative strip with a false button fastening. It is proposed to sew this model from printed cotton. But I think that silk scarves will also work well, because in the original the print imitates the pattern of the scarf, although in this case, you will have to use a lining.

To model a sundress, we need one created according to your individual measurements, which can be taken on our website using

1 step of pattern modeling.

To prevent the bodice from jerking up in a dress that is cut off at the waist, you need to lower the waist line in the middle of the front by 0.7-1 cm, draw a new waist line with a smooth curve. Transfer the bust dart to the side seam. To do this, mark the new location of the dart and cut along this line, not reaching 1 mm to the top of the dart, open it by turning the pattern so that the original dart closes. see fig. Cut the pattern along the bodice and skirt joining lines for further modeling.

Step 2 of pattern modeling.

We outline the line of the upper cut of the bodice of the sundress, and also draw the straps, such as we like or require according to the model, then measure the length of the strap. We check the length of the waistline and compare it with our own measurements, plus an increase in freedom of fit. If the solutions of the darts do not give a proper fit, the missing value can be removed from the side seams and the middle seam of the back. The skirt consists of two, as if, shawls, therefore it has a rectangular shape, not a conical one. We propose to calculate the gathering at the waist empirically based on the thickness of the fabric, as a guideline - the length of the gathered fabric is equal to 1.5 - 2 the length of the hip or waist circumference. In any case, you need to try it on, so as not to make a mistake and not overdo it with the number of assemblies.

3 step of pattern modeling.

The last stage of modeling consists in building the strap-fastening of the shelf and modeling the strap. We design the fastener bar with a width of 4 cm, see fig. (by the way, it can be both functional and decorative).

Well, our beautiful summer sundress is almost ready. As you have seen, it is not at all difficult, but how nice it is to make a pattern with your own hands, which will serve you well and help you sew a new outfit. Using this pattern, we suggest trying to sew just such a model of a summer sundress.

Here, instead of a wide skirt, a regular straight skirt with waist darts and two slits in the side seams is used. The skirt pattern can be taken directly from the base pattern, no modeling is needed.

Or such wonderful summer dresses - sundresses. As you can see, all of them are created on our basis of an adjacent silhouette - cut-off at the waist, have stitched shoulder straps, flared skirts due to gathers, folds. Everything is like in our pattern, which is devoted to the lesson, only with minor changes - added a fastener in the center of the front, changed the shape of the neckline, length, etc.

I think that you have no doubts about whether to sew a summer sundress! Good luck and creative inspiration!

The history of the sundress in Russia

Oblique sundress - this is the shoulder clothing of the complex of Russian women's clothing of the northern provinces of Russia: Arkhangelsk, Novgorod, Pskov, Tver, Kostroma, Severodvinsk, as well as some central regions of Russia (Nizhny Novgorod, Smolensk, etc.).

Performance of the Old Believer Znamenny Singing Choir in the Rogozhskaya Sloboda in Moscow

The North Russian women's costume consisted of a homespun straight linen shirt, an oblique sarafan, a soul warmer (short), a headdress (a girl's - a bandage and a scarf, a woman's - a kichka, a kokoshnik, a warrior, a scarf), shawls, leather shoes - boots (bast shoes were work shoes) ...

The name of the dress "sundress" contains the root "Sar" - "Tsar". These are clothes of a caftan type, long, majestic, often made of expensive rich fabrics - "royal", which were worn by princes and boyars.

For the first time, the term "sundress" was recorded in the Nikon Chronicle (1376). Much later, from the 16th century, a woman's type of clothing, similar to a trapezoidal dress without sleeves or with sleeves, as well as a flared skirt or a skirt-sun with gathers with straps, began to be called a sundress. ...

In different regions of Russia, sundresses had a different name depending on their type, cut, type of fabric or method of dyeing it:

1) By cut method: lamoshnik, kosoklinny, klinnik, etc.;
2) By the method of fabric dyeing: stuffing, madder, vat, etc .;
3) By type of fabric: sukman, shtofnik, kumashnik, satin, cashmere, chintz, pestryadin, etc.

The most ancient are considered oblique tunic-shaped sundresses, which are narrow (35-40 cm wide on the loom) fabric bent over the shoulders with a cutout for the neckline, into the side seams of which wedges are inserted (see diagrams 1,2) .

Pattern of an oblique tunic-shaped sundress for a homespun cut. Originals of schemes

Such a sundress resembles a closed dress with sleeves or without sleeves, without shoulder seams, with a round or square neckline with a small slit in the front, edged with a trim or braid with a buttonhole and button fastening.

Winter sundresses were made of woolen homespun cloth, usually blue or red. Printed linen was used for the summer. An unbleached canvas was also suitable for everyday sundresses.

A non-staged family scene on Rogozhskoye during the annual feast of St. Myrrh-Bearing Women in 2013

The wealthy classes used imported and manufactured fabrics: brocade, silk, velvet. Sundresses were often trimmed with gold factory braid, embroidery, patchwork, cord, piping at the bottom, armholes and neckline.

Slanting sundresses were sewn swing (with fastening along the center line of the front) and deaf (not having a cut along the center line of the front). The through clasp was decorated with cord loops, buttons, braid, gold lace, which at the same time were the decoration of the front of the sundress. Sundresses of the 16-17 centuries always covered the chest.

In front, on the sides, and in the back, the entire back was laid in frequent assemblies under the trim. Sundresses, as a rule, were sewn on a lining of canvas, chintz, the bottom was hemmed with another fabric, because it wore out quickly.

Coins were often sewn into the bottom of a sundress to make it heavier and give it a sculptural monumentality. The metal fringe also served the same purpose.

Modern women of fashion lack not only a fringe with a belt, but a belt would sometimes come in handy ...

The front of the swing sundress consisted of two straight canvases, turning into one-piece straps. The back is made of one panel, to which wedges were attached; The straps were also one-cut and were sewn with the front straps along the shoulder seams.

A feature of the oblique swing sundress was that its wedges converged on the sides with a herringbone. The deaf sundress has longitudinal wedges (see diagrams 1.4), i.e. are not cut at an angle of 45 degrees. Sundresses - clinics could be very wide at the bottom and unfold in a full circle. Longitudinal wedges were obtained very simply: one rectangular canvas was divided diagonally and two identical wedges were obtained at once.

The deaf kosoklinny sarafan (capercaillie, sukman, kostolan, shushun, shushka, nasov) existed in three versions: with long narrow sleeves that had holes for the arms; with fake sleeves, very narrow, sewn only from the back to the armholes. When working, these sleeves were tucked into the belt or tied at the back.

By type of cut, oblique sundresses are with oblique longitudinal wedges (see diagram 1), with wedges beveled at an angle of 45 degrees (see diagram 3.4). In general, the cut of all Russian sundresses is very functional and economical, since, as a rule, no pieces remain from the cutting.

Slanting sundress with oblique and beveled longitudinal wedges

The tunic-like oblique sundress gradually replaced the poneva. She remained the main type of women's clothing in the southern provinces and some central regions of Russia. In these regions (Voronezh, Kursk, Tula, Ryazan), deaf tunic-like sundresses were girls' clothes, while women wore only ponyevs.

Shushuns (tunic-like sundresses), along with later types of sundresses (lyamoshniks), existed until the 20th century, but only the elderly wore them. For our time, a deaf oblique sundress has been preserved among the Old Believers, who respect and love the Russian national costume and do not part with it in their everyday life.

Modern Old Believer sundress

"If you want to destroy the Russian people, corrupt a woman" ... These words are attributed to Heinrich Himmler, one of the ideologists of the Third Reich. So he talked about Russian women, famous for their chastity and high morality.

The modern Old Believer sundress is a magnificent example of real Russian women's clothing. It is comfortable, functional and beautiful. The sarafan with its bell shape saves the energy of the Earth, which is so necessary to maintain women's health (women who wear long dresses and trapezoidal sundresses have practically no female diseases).

Modern Old Believers in deaf oblique sundresses

The sundress transforms every woman who wears it, makes her majestically beautiful, slim, stately and young. Traditional women's outfit draws attention not to the figure, but to the face, eyes, the whole appearance, emphasizing the high spirituality.

Next to the woman in the correct noble Russian sarafan, arguments subside, men do not allow themselves to say "a harsh word" ...

When, slightly lifting the floor of the sundress with a long-forgotten gesture, such a woman gets off the bus or slowly walks up the stairs, people's faces brighten, the vanity of life is forgotten and it becomes clear: Russia is alive, and it has a great and bright future!

Pattern of an oblique sundress

We offer all lovers of the Russian style of clothing and readers of the site "Old Believer Thought" a pattern-scheme of a modern Old Believer sundress, which will adorn any woman (see diagram 5).

Modern simple pattern for a single-seam oblique Old Believer sundress

Ingredients

Currently, fabrics are produced in widths of 80, 90, 150 cm, and even 160 and 180 cm.Therefore, if you want to sew a modern sundress like an oblique one, it is not at all necessary to collect it with wedges: after all, wedges were necessary when sewing from narrow homespun fabric 35-40 cm wide.

There is a simple way to sew a sundress with only one seam: even a novice dressmaker can handle such a cut, and an experienced one will sew it in two hours. This method of sewing a sundress is suitable for a woman of average height (this is 165 cm).

For higher stature, the length of the sundress will be shortened (not to the floor), or a different cut will need to be applied. For such a sundress, both light silk and heavy woolen fabrics and brocade are suitable, but the pattern of the fabric should not be longitudinal (not have a clear direction along the shared thread).

Cooking method

A sundress is an integral part of an Old Believer wedding

You need to take 3 meters of fabric with a width of 150 cm, fold the fabric in half so that you get two squares with a fold (one side shared). Put in the corner where the fold of the fabric is, the blank of the pattern for the top of the sundress, shallow off the armholes and the bottom line, smoothly rounding along the pattern. Cut out a sundress. There will be only one seam on it - in the center of the front, which needs to be stitched and decorated with braid, galloon, lace, cord, buttons.

For growth over 165 cm, you need to take a fabric with a width of 160-180 cm or sew a frill to the bottom of a sundress, which additionally requires another 1 m of fabric. The armholes of the sundress are processed with an oblique inlay in the color of the sundress or contrasting. From the remaining triangular "kerchiefs" are cut out two front straps and a headdress (kerchief, warrior, etc.).

Performance of the Old Believer Choir at the Moscow International House of Music in 2014

This modern Russian sarafan, simple in execution, was developed by Old Believers on the basis of an old Nizhny Novgorod sarafan "magpie's tail". It is beautiful, suitable for any body size and is equally applicable both outdoors and in city life.

Beach dresses, sundresses will help you to be irresistible on your vacation by the sea. You can sew an evening or casual outfit without a pattern in just an hour.

Quick knit dresses - 2 ideas

There are very simple options for creating a summer wardrobe. For beginners, it's just a way out. After all, it is easy to sew a dress using a T-shirt or a T-shirt instead of a pattern. You can use this item of clothing as the top of a new outfit.

If you like this idea, get started now. To keep everything close at hand, put next to it in advance:
  • T-shirt;
  • knitted fabric;
  • scissors;
  • thread with a needle.
The idea is to sew 2 flounces in matching jersey to the shirt. To sew a dress with your own hands without a pattern, measure your hips, multiply the resulting value by 1.5 or 2.

If you have wide hips, it is better to make the flounces less curvy and multiply your hips by 1.5. If they are narrow, then feel free to multiply by 2.

Sew each strip of the future shuttlecock on the side, hem the bottom. Gather the top of these parts with a needle on the thread. Distribute the shuttlecocks evenly. Cut a strip from the same fabric, the length of which is equal to the circumference of the bottom of the shirt, and the height is 2/3 of the height of the shuttlecock, also stitch this auxiliary piece from the side (we will designate it as "H").

Fold the gathered shuttle with the right side with the face of the bottom of the shirt, insert the strip of fabric you just cut ("H") between them, pin with pins. Sew back 7 mm. Sew all 3 seam edges with one overlock stitch or overlock.

Now you know how to quickly sew a dress and can make another one. Here it is.

To do this, cut the T-shirt at the waist, if it is wide, then first sew it on the sides.

Measure your waist, add 5 cm, divide this value by 2, let's designate it as "A". Now multiply "A" by 2, you get the number "B". Draw a trapezoid on the wrong side of the fabric, folded in half, with the top = "A" and the bottom = "B". Connect the sides of this shape with straight lines. Cut out, leaving a 2.5 cm allowance at the bottom, and 1 cm at the top and sides. From the same fabric, cut out a wide belt equal to your waist plus 3 cm for a loose fit.

Sew the side seams. Sew a belt to the top of the skirt, pulling it slightly. Then sew the top of the belt to the bottom of the T-shirt.

Hem the bottom of the skirt. Open out the pockets, stitch them into place, and then the dress is ready.

Evening outfit in an hour

A T-shirt will also help create it. If you want to make a dress that is colorful, then take a T-shirt in a juicy color.

Lay it in front of you, cut off the top of the bodice, rip off the sleeves. For now, put aside the two large canvases, which will soon turn into the back and front of the evening dress. As you can see in the second photo of the collage, each sleeve needs to be turned into a rectangle. To do this, cut off their rounded shoulder lines and side parts, unfold.

As a result, you have 2 rectangles: the front and back yoke. How to arrange them can be seen in the third photo. The fourth shows that you need to stitch the yoke to the front, slightly stretching it. So that when you release the parts, the top of the front is slightly gathered. Decorate the back in the same way.

Take the elastic, stretching a little, measure it over the top of the chest. See that the elastic fits well - does not press and does not fall off. Stretching, stitch it to the top of the product.

To distribute the elastic evenly, fold it in half. Pin one part to the shelf, and the other to the back. It can be divided into 4 parts with pins and chopped not only on the sides of the dress, but also in the center of the front and back.

The useful and pleasant work is over. If you want to learn not only how to sew a dress with your own hands without a pattern from knitwear, but also other light outfits made of silk, chiffon, crepe de Chine, then check out one more idea.

In the first model, the already well-known T-shirt acts as a pattern. Place it on the fabric folded in half across. Pin, mark the center line. Draw the fabric on the top and armpits on the T-shirt, make the bottom flared. To do this, place a large ruler obliquely from the right armpit, and from the left to the left, directing the ruler in the same way.

Make the bottom arched. For large breasts, this line should be more curved outward than for small ones.

Cut, leaving a seam allowance on all sides. Along the neckline and armpits - 5 mm, for the shoulder and side seams - 7 mm, for the bottom - 2 cm.

If the shirt stretches when put on and fits the body, make the top slightly larger than it. Then the dress will not be small as a result.

Stitch side, shoulder seams, tuck and hem the bottom. The neckline and both armholes are processed with a bias tape or strips of fabric cut diagonally. You can make such a wonderful summer sundress.

Patterns also help to sew a sundress with your own hands. A very light blueprint is used for the next model. It consists of three parts:

  • hem;
  • shoulder straps;
  • belts.
Based on the presented pattern, you can vary it at your discretion, for example, by increasing or decreasing the length of the sundress.

Redraw the pattern, put all its details on the wrong side of the fabric, outline. Cut with 1 cm allowances, and 2 cm for the bottom.Cut out all the elements, this is how many of them you should get:
  • hem - 1 piece;
  • shoulder straps - 4 children;
  • belt - 2 parts.
To determine the size of the hem, place the beginning of a centimeter in the center under the chest, lower its opposite edge down, see how many cm you get the desired length. Wrap the thighs with a measuring tape, make an allowance for the wrist. So much cm will be the width of the hem.

You will determine the length of the strap if you put a zero mark on the tape on a point under the chest, then direct the centimeter towards the neck and stop it behind the neck at the vertebra. The length of the belt should be such that it is tied at the waist, and at the back - with a bow.

To make it easy for you to sew a sundress with your own hands, follow the step-by-step recommendations.

  1. Fold over and hem the first and second sides of the hem.
  2. Place 2 belt pieces on the front side, fold the edges inward by 7 mm, iron in this position.
  3. Insert the top of the hem between the two pieces of the waistband, and gather the hem slightly in the front. Sew.
  4. Fold 2 parts of the first strap with the right sides, sew from all sides except the bottom, turn the part through it. Make the same double and the second strap.
  5. Insert the straps between the two parts of the belt from above, baste, stitch.
  6. Sew fasteners to the thin edge of one and the second straps, which will become fastened at the back of the neck.
  7. Mark the bottom, hem it on your hands.
Now you know how to sew a sundress for the summer according to a pattern. A vacation wardrobe should not only consist of these things. To keep it complete, read how to quickly sew a pareo. At sea, these clothes are simply irreplaceable.

Pareo for the beach

Coming out of the water? it's nice to put on such a tunic or go for a walk along the sea coast in it. Use a lightweight fabric to sew a beach pareo.

Measure your hips, multiply this value by 2. Let's designate it as "C". Now determine the length of the piece. It starts under the armpits. Transfer these measurements to the fabric, cut out a rectangle along them, adding 1.3 cm on all sides.That is how much you will bend it and sew on all 4 sides.

Cut out 2 straps. Sew them to the two corners on one large side of the rectangle.

To sew a shoulder strap, a strip of fabric is folded in half with the wrong side up, strapped off from one small side and from a large side. Next, a pencil is pushed into the remaining hole. Pulling the strap over him, it is turned over onto her face.

You just have to put on the pareo correctly. To do this, throw one strap over your right shoulder. Next, pass it in front, under your left hand, wind it back. Forward again and place the strap over your left shoulder. Lightweight fabric drapes well, and a beach pareo will look great on you.

You can quickly turn a large scarf into this piece of beachwear. To do this, it is enough to wrap it around the body, tie it in front of the top with a beautiful bow. If you do not have a scarf, sew a rectangle from a light fabric, process its edges and knit in the same way.

In the same way, you can sew beach dresses of other styles, for example, this one. For needlework, use:
  • the cloth;
  • braid;
  • scissors.

Take a fabric 1.5 m wide. Cut a rectangle out of it along the entire width, its length is the same as your new dress will be. Find the middle of the rectangle, in this case 75 cm. Make a straight cut for the neckline.

If you want such a beach tunic to be even more luxuriant, then you can take a wider fabric or sew two of its canvases.

And in this example, you only need to make 1 seam, which will be located on the back. Create it by connecting the canvas.

Sew the top of the dress so that 2 drawstrings are formed here - to the right and to the left of the neckline. Thread the braid through them. With it, you will tie a tunic around your neck. Use the rest of the tape as a belt.

Now you have beach dresses, pareos, so you can pack your suitcase and go on vacation at sea.

To consolidate what you have read, you can see how you can quickly sew beach dresses or for a country holiday and bring these ideas to life:
