You will need the following materials:

a piece of fabric;
iron, ironing board;
narrow knitted elastic band;
needle, thread, sewing machine;
ruler, marker;
pin, sewing needles.

Step 1. Iron the fabric well to remove folds and folds. If you are using leftover fabric or not new material, then it must be washed before ironing.

Step 2. Determine the size for the accessory and cut a rectangle from the material. At the same time, the longer the figure, the more magnificent the elastic will be; the height of the workpiece determines the size of the accessory.

Pass it inside the sewn part of the material to the end of the next cut, but not all the way. You should end up with a tube rolled up inside. Remove the pin.

Step 6. Bring the edges of the material together and secure them with sewing pins.

Step 7 Stitch the edges together at the top or hand stitch.

Step 8 Turn out the blank for the elastic through the free hole. To do this, gently pull the inside of the fabric upward.

Step 9 Cut the elastic to the required length. Pierce one edge with a pin.

Step 10 Thread the elastic band inside the workpiece, pull the edges up and remove the pin.

Step 11 Sew the edges of the elastic together using a sewing machine or by hand. You don’t have to worry about the neatness of the seam; it won’t be visible on the elastic band.

Step 12 Hide the elastic band inside the workpiece. Straighten the free edges.

Step 13 Wrap the sections inward and secure with needles.

Step 14 Hand sew the edges with an invisible seam or sew on a sewing machine.

The base of a hair tie or the simplest model

In order to make the base, you will first need:

linen or just a thin elastic band (15-20 cm);
a piece of fabric (the length is approximately 2 - 3 times longer than the length of the elastic band, the width is arbitrary);
threads in the color of the fabric;
needle;
pin;
scissors.

Take the prepared piece of fabric, fold it in half lengthwise, and sew along the edge. Then fold the stitched piece with the holes facing each other and sew along the edge, leaving an opening for turning it inside out. Turn the workpiece inside out.

Now insert the elastic band. Tie it, sew up the hole. That's all. This model can be used as an independent product or as a basis for a more sophisticated elastic band.

Four variations

Cut two ovals from the fabric and sew them together along the edge, leaving a hole. Insert a wire there. Place the future bow in an elastic band and tie it.

Elegant

There is no shame in wearing such an accessory for the evening. For it, prepare a base, shiny (optional) yarn, various kinds of beads and a crochet hook (although if the yarn is thick enough, you can do it with your hands).

The most important thing here is to tie the base properly. I don’t know what the correct name for this type of binding is, but it reminded me of a voluminous buttonhole stitch. As you weave, gradually add beads (this can be done later by pulling a thread through the elastic and gradually stringing them onto it).

Children's elastic bands for little girls

A five-leaf flower can be created by a simple operation: take a circle, sweep it along the edge, pull it together and stuff it. At the end, sew it up and make several tightenings from the center.

They love to attach such flowers to the headbands of newborns and young children in general. Take several circles of different sizes, make cuts along the edges and burn them. All that remains is to fasten it in the center with a bead.

Every lady, regardless of age, likes beautiful jewelry. And mothers so want their little princesses to be the sweetest and most beautiful. Today we want to help mothers and show how to make children's hair ties. Girls always need accessories, and our task is to make them with our own hands. Our master classes are simple, such elastic bands can be made in just an hour.

Such interesting elastic bands can be made from braid or grosgrain ribbon. We will need 3 types of braid: 15 mm wide, 15 mm wide, and 5 mm wide. For the roses you need small pieces of pink and green satin ribbons. You can take elastic bands from old hairpins, or buy any inexpensive ones.

To work you will need:

Rubber bands.
Braid of 3 types.
Needle and thread to match the color of the product.
We cut the braid into 2 hairpins, thus:
Black braid - 60 and 60 cm.
Pink braid - 60 and 60 cm and 35 and 35 cm.
Black narrow - 4 and 4 cm.

Let's take a pink ribbon 60 cm and mark it with a pencil into 7 parts, 8.5 cm each. Next, we also divide the second 35 cm ribbon into 7 parts, 5 cm each. We assemble and stitch along the marked points.

Red satin ribbon (20 cm x 2 elastic bands). Width 5 cm.
Green ribbon (10 cm). Same width.
Thin braid to match the color of the elastic bands.
2 rubber bands.
Yellow beads.

Cut 2 pieces of red ribbon (10 cm), 2 pieces of green (5 cm), 2 pieces of thin braid (5 cm). Burn the edges with a lighter.

How to make a base for an elastic band?

Regardless of what kind of elastic band you plan to create with your own hands, you will first need to make a base for it.

Detailed instructions describing each stage are given below:

You need to take the selected fabric and fold it in half lengthwise.
The folded piece of fabric is sewn along the edge.
The resulting workpiece must be folded in such a way that the holes are opposite each other.
The workpiece is stitched along the edge again, but it is necessary to leave a hole for turning it inside out.
After these steps, the base must be turned out.
A pre-prepared piece of clothesline or elastic is inserted into the hole.
A rope or elastic band is tied, after which the hole can be sewn up.

Elastic flower

An accessory in the shape of a flower is distinguished not only by its practicality, but also by its visual appeal; this model is one of the most popular options.

The manufacturing process is described below:

A ribbon is cut from a piece of selected fabric; its width should not exceed 5cm.
On one side of the ribbon, using scissors, you need to make a pattern that will decorate the petals of the future flower.
A strip of fabric needs to be gathered onto a thread. This can be done by passing a needle with a thread inserted into it through the edge opposite to the pattern.
The thread is stretched so that the strip takes the shape of a semicircle.
Now you need to cut out a small suede circle, to which a ribbon will be glued around the circumference, which is the future flower.
A large bead, pebble or any other decorative element is glued to the center.
A base is taken, which is ripped to a length of 1 cm in any area.
The base is glued to the back of the suede circle.
You need to wait until the glue has completely dried, after which the accessory is completely ready.

Fabric model

This option is even easier to make, but it will require more free time and the ability to use a sewing machine.

A piece measuring 10x50cm is cut from the selected fabric.
The edges of the piece are folded on the wrong side and stitched along the edges; for these purposes you will need to use a sewing machine. At this stage, it is necessary to ensure that the indentation is no more than 1 cm.
The fabric is folded to the middle of the segment. It is necessary to hold it in this position, while simultaneously tucking its remains inward, as a result of which the strip will fold in half.
It is necessary to use the sewing machine again to sew the edge from the side of the already sewn part of the workpiece. As this process progresses, you need to take out the inside of the fabric while continuing to sew the edge.
You need to stop when there is at least 3cm left before the start of the stitching; this hole must be saved, otherwise at later stages it will not be possible to insert the elastic.
All fabric is turned right side out by hand.
An elastic band is threaded through the hole left, after which its ends are tied to each other.
Now the hole is no longer needed and can be sewn on a sewing machine to ensure the integrity of the accessory.
All that remains is to straighten the resulting accessory, after which it is completely ready for use.

Model with petals

Such an accessory is essentially a type of flower, but a completely different technology is used to make it.

A detailed description of this process is given below:

Initially, you will need to cut out three circles from colored cardboard, which will differ in diameter: the recommended figures are 5cm, 6.5cm and 8cm.
15 circles are cut out of the fabric - 5 for each diameter. To maintain dimensions, it is recommended to apply cardboard blanks to the fabric and cut them along the contour.
Take any circle of fabric and fold it in half, then this action must be repeated again.
As a result of the described actions, a petal is obtained, which must be stitched along the edges with the needle forward to fix and maintain the given shape.
The thread must be long enough, since 5 more petals will be passed through it, which are assembled in the same way from the remaining circles with an identical diameter.
Using the described algorithm of actions, you need to get two more flowers, which are assembled from the remaining circles with different diameters.
The resulting flowers are arranged in the shape of a pyramid: the largest element is located at the bottom, with a medium and small element on it.
All three flowers are stitched together.
An elastic band is sewn or glued to the largest flower from the bottom.
At the final stage, a bead, pebble or any other decorative element is glued to the center of the small flower.
