List of things to bring with you on your trip. Tour Kizhi Valaam Solovki - what to take with you? Trip to Karelia what to take

Antipyretics for children are prescribed by a pediatrician. But there are emergency situations for fever when the child needs to be given medicine immediately. Then the parents take responsibility and use antipyretic drugs. What is allowed to give to infants? How can you bring down the temperature in older children? What medicines are the safest?

When thinking about what to take with you to Karelia, remember that you are going on a journey where everything should be thought out “from and to”.

Start with clothes. Surely, you are going to this region in order to go hiking and enjoy the beauties of nature. In this case, you should have comfortable and warm clothes with you, because the weather in Karelia can be extremely unpredictable. Don't forget to bring an umbrella or raincoat with you. There are between 150 and 170 wet days a year in this region, which means that you will need waterproof boots that will allow you to not be distracted by wet boots or the resulting cold.

By the way, about the cold. What medicines to take with you to Karelia?

You are going to spend your holidays in places with magnificent nature, but a rather harsh climate. It is rather difficult to predict exactly how your body will react to climate change: you may not feel that the weather and atmospheric conditions around you have changed radically, but there are times when the body “fails” because of them. In this case, it is better to have a first aid kit on hand with a full range of medicines that suit you. At a minimum, it should contain painkillers, cold and diarrhea drugs, not to mention those that you take constantly. In the settlements of Karelia, as a rule, there are pharmacies, but it would be better if you bring the entire set with you from home.

What to take a child to Karelia?

Thinking about what to take a child to Karelia, you should not puzzle for a long time. He will not need anything supernatural on the journey. Be sure to take your baby comfortable clothes and shoes, and do not forget to also throw a couple of his favorite toys into the suitcase, without which he will be bored. Remember that extra things when traveling around Karelia can become a real burden. And don't forget to take your camera with you - you can bring truly beautiful photos from the places you are going to.

Our guest house has everything you need for a comfortable stay for any amount of time.

And yet, we will try to give you some tips on what you should take with you just in case.

First, it is of course a variety of clothes. The weather in Karelia is unpredictable, even if today the sun is shining and +25 in the shade, then tomorrow it may rain and the temperature will drop to +10.

Footwear: sneakers or trekking shoes; sandals; shoes for the house (in case you forget, the house has an assortment of slippers in different sizes); rubber boots if you are going to actively walk or fish.

Clothing: windbreaker (preferably with a wind and moisture-proof hood), sweater, trousers (jeans or any sports-cut trousers), hats (cap, bandana, hat), light clothing for warm, dry weather: shorts, skirts, t-shirts, T-shirts, swimming trunks, swimwear. And of course comfortable clothes in which you are used to being at home. If you plan to come in spring or autumn, then warm socks, a warm jacket, boots, thermal underwear are required.

If you are planning to explore the area on foot or by bicycle, we advise you to have a small bag or backpack - it will be very convenient to put everything you need for the whole day in it. You can also take a light but warm sweater with you, because even if the morning turned out to be clear and sunny, there is no guarantee that the weather will not change during the day.

Of course, Karelia is famous for its mosquitoes and midges. There's nothing you can do about it - nature. Mosquitoes actively annoy in late June - early July in the evenings. In August, midges and horseflies appear, mosquitoes are almost gone.

Therefore, if you relax in the summer, take repellents from bloodsucking to go for walks - sprays, ointments, spirals for evening gatherings by the water. In the house, in every room, fumigators with repellent liquids are provided. In spring and at the very beginning of summer, when walking through the forest, we recommend using anti-tick remedies. By the way, the successful location of the house on the cape of the peninsula, blown by a light breeze, to a large extent saves from the usual abundance of Karelian mosquitoes.

Take with you personal hygiene items, rare and expensive medicines that you need. There is a pharmacy in the village, but due to the high cost and low solvency of the population (and in general, we rarely get sick), expensive medicines are brought only to order. The house will have a first aid kit with a basic emergency kit (iodine, bandages, plaster, activated charcoal, validol, etc.). There will also be sewing accessories (thread, needle).

Do not forget your passport and health insurance policy, there is a first-aid post in Velikaya Guba, the nearest hospital is in Medvezhyegorsk.

Do not bring groceries with you for the entire stay, take only the essentials for the first days and the specific foods you are used to. You will not find elite alcohol in the village either, everything else in a sufficient assortment is on the shelves of our stores. And certainly do not carry potatoes, dairy products, bread.

We will provide you with fishing tackle, a boat, a motor, but of course, if you are fishing for you, take your tackle, your favorite baits. When, where, what and whom to catch we have described in more detail in the section "Successful fishing". Do you have your own boat and motor? Bring, if it's not difficult, we'll give you life jackets for hire.

Well, that's probably all, don't forget a good mood and photo-video equipment to capture all the beauties of Karelia.

After arriving at the railway station at the meeting point of the group, you need to approach the tour guide so that he marks you in the lists and informs you of the location of the bus.

On the bus, you will be announced the program of stay for the entire period of service (the order of accommodation, meals, a list of excursions, the schedule of transport), as well as the program for the day of arrival.

Upon arrival at the hotel you will be placed in the rooms.

You can solve all the questions that arise during the tour with our tour guide who accompanies the group.

* Please carefully study the tour program you have booked.

Residence

Checkout time in hotels is 12:00 or 14:00. Therefore, be prepared for the fact that immediately after the train you will not be able to relax in the room, take a shower. Check-in at the hotel takes place after the excursions (before that, your luggage will be either in the staff room of the hotel or in the luggage compartment of the bus).

When checking in, you will need to present a Russian passport, for a child - a birth certificate.

Clothing and footwear

For a comfortable stay in winter programs, clothing is of particular importance. It should stay dry and warm for a long time. The weather in Karelia is changeable, the wind can suddenly increase and snow can fall. The average temperature is 15 degrees below zero, but frosts can reach minus 30 degrees. Snowfalls are most frequent in February and March, with the most severe frosts at the end of January.

On the observation decks and during excursions to the sights you will need to walk, so we recommend that you bring warm, comfortable (but not tight) shoes with you. From clothes we recommend to take: a sweater, a warm jacket, a hat, mittens or a pair of woolen gloves.

Automobile transport

All transfers along the route are related to the distance of excursion objects from each other.

We do our best to make long journeys as comfortable as possible for tourists: travel information, stops at interesting places along the way, sanitary stops, sometimes showing feature films or documentaries on the bus.

For some excursion routes, we try to recruit not very large groups so that tourists travel as comfortably as possible in a temporary mode. In this regard, for groups of up to 16 people, we provide as comfortable minibuses as possible in Karelia. There is not a very large fleet of buses in our region, but we work with the best of them.

Medical insurance and first aid kit

Medical insurance and accident insurance are not included in the tour price.

If you wish, you can insure yourself before the trip in your city.

Do not forget to take with you the medicines that you take constantly, and those that you may need, there will be no possibility to purchase them outside the city.

Products and goods

Amateur photo and video filming at some sightseeing sites is paid.

Also, in advance, while on the route in the cities, take care of purchasing drinking water on the road and, if necessary, a snack. There are not always shops on the roads between cities and sightseeing objects.

Additional Information

*After purchasing railway tickets, we ask you to report the number of the train by which you arrive in Karelia.

* The company reserves the right to change the procedure for providing services in the tour program without reducing their volume.

* The company does not reimburse cash costs for paid services if the tourist did not use these services at his own discretion during the service period.

For snowmobiling, special equipment is issued: a snowmobile helmet with a visor, a balaclava, snowmobile shoes, snowmobile gloves.

No special equipment is needed for dog sledding, warm clothes and comfortable shoes are enough.

Behavior rules

With warmer weather and a new hiking season awaiting, it's time to check your gear and prepare for new adventures. Today we will talk about what we took with us on a trip to Karelia for a week. That is, we will take our list and comment on it.

Our trip was in mid-August, which means it was in a relatively warm season. Our itinerary also included a visit to and. We do not encourage you to follow exactly this list of things on a hike, but it (the list) is not much different from the one that we followed on other hikes. We will also try to guide you by weight.

So, your attention is a list of things for relatively easy hikes in the summer:

  • Tent. Well, it's hard to forget. Check, however, that the tent bag also contains poles and pegs with which to secure the tent. Even if for some reason you don’t have sleeping bags and bedding, you will already be protected from wind and cold. Yes, we checked it on ourselves) The weight of our triple two-layer tent with additional elements is 3.7 kg. We advise you not to save on weight by buying a single layer tent.

  • Tent pad. She is a foam or a rug. It so happened that we had one wide bedding for two. The downside is that it folds, and moisture can penetrate through the seams (unless, of course, put it directly on the ground). It takes up more space than one rug, I had to fasten it outside the backpack, but it is one. And the rugs wouldn't fit inside either. In general, it is approximately equivalent that one bedding, that two rugs, each is more convenient in its own way. Weight approximately 600-700 grams

  • Sleeping bags. We took summer sleeping bags with a comfort temperature of 10-25 °C. We have them quite heavy, 1.2 kg are now lighter from the new material.

  • Pendal. He's the underdog. She is a seat. A very convenient thing, you can sit on it, put it under your lower back during sleep, use it as a tray, fan a fire. In general, a really useful thing.

  • Axe, saw. We have used both tools. But there is a choice, take an axe. Of course, it is better to purchase compact tools. Folding hacksaw - 310 grams, Ax - 650 grams.

  • Flashlight. Or rather, several. Of course, we check their performance and availability of batteries.

  • Matches, lighter. No comment.

  • Fire knife. A very useful gift from friends. Includes a good, not the first time rescued us steel, as well as a knife and a flashlight.

  • Kindling. It is still advisable to take it with you, especially in.

  • Dry fuel. I, the opponent of dry fuel, say that next time we will take more! It will be good if, in addition, the package contains a stand for these tablets, on which you can put a mug and boil water. We used 3 tablets in very rainy weather.

  • Wood chip stove. We plan to collect it, something that was not enough in the campaign. We are planning a weight of 800-1000 grams

  • Gas-burner. We don’t have it, but we still used it, thanks to a neighbor in the parking lot. We do not plan to purchase, while the choice is in favor of a wood chip stove. These things can come in handy where it is forbidden to make fires or for cooking in the rain. Also in short stops, when you need to quickly warm up or cook something.

  • Folding canister. Generally a useful thing for the supply of water. In this campaign, they used little, but it takes up little space, and besides, it is light.

  • Ropes. Just in case. Looks like they haven't used it, but it's worth it. Something to hang, fix, there are many applications.

  • Notebook. With recorded important phone numbers and other information on the campaign. And also leave a note, use it as kindling, draw in the end.

  • Pencil. Better it is he than a pen that can end, leak.

  • Packages. Just empty bags. Under the garbage, dirty things, dirty dishes, but you never know why. in General, packages are snapped up.

  • Heating pads. It is convenient to take disposable small heating pads. Used 2 or 3 in a week.

Tableware

  • Bowler hat. It is convenient if the lid to the pot turns out to be in one person and a frying pan. Here again, there is nothing to say, the thing is necessary. We have 350 grams

  • Shared plates. I did not want to take them, but we used them very actively. By common plates, we mean dishes where you can put clean food, vegetables. And what is most in demand, use it as a board. Still, you can do without common utensils. But our plates were light. So why not make camping life more comfortable.

  • Skewers. Don't know what they do in the list of things. Apparently left from the outing to the barbecue. No need to take them) They weigh, and the sharp ends also need to be wrapped. Well, maybe if you didn’t get out for a day in order to cook kebabs on skewers.

  • Thermos. Left it at home in order to save space and weight. Sometimes there was not enough to warm up with hot tea, but they managed.

  • KLMN - Mug Spoon Bowl Knife. A set of dishes for everyone. It is very convenient if you have a light catcher that combines a spoon, fork and knife. The knife, however, is more for show, but I am very pleased with this little thing. A mug for 200 ml - 90 grams, for 500 ml - 100 grams.

  • Waterskin. Why exactly it - It is very convenient to carry around, hanging around your neck. This is a huge plus. A fairly light thing, 150 grams, thanks to its shape, it is more convenient to pack in a backpack than a bottle.

  • Teapot. It is not necessary to take it if you are satisfied with tea bags. But it was delicious for us to drink custard)

  • Dish sponge- understood that it is still needed.

Hygiene and cosmetic products

  • Insect repellents.

  • Sunscreen.

  • Toilet paper.

  • Napkins, Wet wipes. They are used up very quickly.

  • Handkerchiefs.

  • Antiseptic, Soap. We hardly used an antiseptic, you can not take it, napkins are more multifunctional. Soap can wash both hands and greasy dishes. We definitely take.

  • Towel. We did without it, but for comfort it is better to take it. Especially if you plan to swim. And also after cold water I wanted to wipe my hands.

  • Hairbrush.

  • Mirror- not only for those who will shave. There are cases when it is necessary, for example, it is better to pull the speck out of the eye yourself, looking in the mirror.

  • Razor, shaving products. If this action is planned.

  • Toothbrush, paste.

  • Shampoo. You can not take it, but it is in small paper packages.

  • Scissors.

  • Nail file, tweezers, tweezers- not only for beauty on a hike, you can pull out a tick with tweezers (lucky, we didn’t have to)

first aid kit

Where you do not need to save weight, this is a first aid kit. Even so, it usually doesn't weigh that much.

  • Painkillers, Hydrogen peroxide(available in small bottles of 5 ml), Band-Aid, Bandage, Charcoal, For severe poisoning, Antiviral, Nose drops, Sore throat, Eye drops, Allergy remedy (even if you don’t seem to have allergies, it can appear from the bites of midges), Pills for motion sickness, if nessesary. Ointment for sprains. We probably weighed about 200-300 grams.

  • Personal first aid kit tailored to your needs.

repair kit

Threads, needle, glue, adhesive tape, tent patches. Maybe someone else is taking it.

Photo and other equipment

  • Camera, 2-3 memory cards, battery(better also 2 or more).

  • Optional equipment. Well, who else takes what, if it takes. Lenses, film who has film, lens hoods, filters, a rag ...

  • Charger for the camera. If there is an opportunity to charge, of course.

  • Bag. together plus minus 1.5-2 kg

  • Tripod, monopod. It would seem, why. In the Urals, I realized how it was not enough, so they dragged a tripod weighing 1.3 kg.

  • Telephone, Phone charger.

  • Portable charger. This is the best thing to take. True, it will not work to charge the camera from it.

  • Flash drive. We uploaded photos from the first part of the trip to her.

Food

Of course, there is no clear list, especially since we bought food along the way. But it's better not to forget about:

  • Salt pepper, sugar, butter(on which to fry).

  • Tea coffee.

  • dry ration. Muesli was great.

  • water we expect approximately 1-1.5 liters / day per person in warm weather.

  • Nishtyachki. This is something you can enjoy. Chocolate, sweets. In moderation, of course. Sugar in the campaign is necessary for the body.

  • Dried vegetables. Made as an experiment. Very satisfied. Lightweight, take up little space, perfectly complement the soup and main dishes. Recommended!

The rest is calculated based on whether you can. It is important to calculate in advance what each participant of the trip will eat every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  • We recommend taking custard products which are simply filled with hot water. Flakes (buckwheat went with a bang), couscous, porridge. The soup, which you just need to pour boiling water, also came in handy. Once a year is possible.

  • What needs to be cooked was also prepared: rice and pasta. As for pasta, it is better to take something like stars or vermicelli. They take up less space than those that are hollow inside.

  • Meat products we shopped along the way. You can take hard-smoked sausages from home, cook dried or dried meat well.

Cloth

  • Socks(warm and spare). For a week with 1 wash per person, there were 4 regular pairs, 1 wool. It’s good that I didn’t post them, they saved me a lot at night.

  • Gloves. Here you can get by with workers if it's not very cold.

  • Warm sweater. It is well suited from fleece, as the material holds heat well and, importantly, dries quickly. A wool sweater takes up more space and is heavier.

  • Just a jacket. Better 2. Very satisfied with the vests. Inexpensive, comfortable, nice material.

  • Jacket ().

  • T-shirt. Can be dressed up for layering.

  • Underwear.Swimsuit (this one is not necessary anyway if every gram counts)

  • Spare pants. Better waterproof.

  • Underpants. Comfortable to sleep, you can put on. Mine fell victim to the campfire.

  • Raincoat.

  • Hat (bandana), Cap. You can not take a cap, but for me it created additional protection from the sun. We highly recommend buff-type products that can be used as a bandana, balaclava, scarf, etc. Slept exclusively in bandanas. If you have a sleeping bag without a hood (suddenly), take a hat.

  • Scarf. It came in handy, however. Summer is ours.)

  • Spare shoes. Necessarily. Some have experienced its absence. But nothing, but it was not necessary to drag. Well, for a couple of days you can not take it if you are confident in your shoes. Spare light clothing can be left unworn at camp to give your feet a rest from hiking boots.

  • Sunglasses.

Valuables and documents

  • Documentation(passport, medical policy, student, driver's license)

  • Money

  • Reservations, tickets

  • Printed cards. You should not completely rely on gadgets either.

  • house keys also desirable to take)

  • Hermetic case, in which it is convenient to store documents

So, when we have decided what we are taking with us on a hike, it's time to think about where to pack it all. We fit everything into 2 backpack 45 liters each. Outside, they fixed a bedding, a tent and a tripod on another backpack. More precisely, at first the tent was inside, but by the end of the trip something had changed.
It's important to take waterproof cover for a backpack, at least one. The litter fixed outside did not get wet. Inside, by the way, the unprotected backpack was also dry.

Weight of backpacks at the beginning of the trip:
Katya: 10 kg (minus 2 kg by the end)
Sasha: 14 kg (by the end of 12-13 kg)

Note that the weight of the backpacks has become less, not only because we ate food, but also because we put some things on ourselves. And we carried the collected lingonberries and something else in a separate package.
On this, perhaps, we will finish our detailed story. Recall that this was a list of things for 8 days. Of these, 3 days in nature, a day in a hotel, and again 4 days in nature. 10-18 ° C, often. Resupply food and water along the way. Hmm, everything seems simple, but my shoulders still hurt. Well, nothing) In fact, it was useful, consider everything that should have been useful. It's good that the first-aid kit remained almost untouched)
We have not discovered anything new for experienced tourists, but we hope it will be useful for those who start hiking.
Wait for stories about our travels and divider with friends!
All good roads!
