This manual is intended for children 3-7 years old.

Foot massage has a beneficial effect not only on the formation of the legs and the musculoskeletal system, the child, but also on the central nervous system, and through it - on the whole organism. Therefore, it is one of the most effective ways to improve health.

Target: improvement of the child's body with the help of massage paths, by influencing the biologically active points of the foot.

Tasks:

  1. Hardening of the body.
  2. Prevention and correction of flat feet.
  3. Development of a sense of balance and coordination of movements.

Massage paths have several types of corrugated surface, and, therefore, differ in the degree of impact on the child's feet. Thanks to this, the tracks provide foot massage, help strengthen the ankle joint and prevent the appearance and development of flat feet in children.

It is more effective to carry out this type of hardening with musical accompaniment, using melodies of various tempos. In our practice of hardening a child's body, we assign a leading place to one of the non-traditional types - this is hardening with the help of massage mats and paths. The hardening method chosen by us helps to solve the following problems:

  2. To fill the lack of tactile sensations in children;
  3. Prevention and correction of flat feet in a child;
  4. To develop a sense of balance and coordination in preschoolers.

Massage paths are an excellent opportunity to organize joint activities with children, especially at older preschool age. For example, we practice the manufacture of simple tracks in a joint work activity.

Children like to pick up sponges for tracks or rugs in shape, color, size, lay them out on the tracks, counting how many sponges will be needed. They like to lay out patterns from sponges, alternating in color and direction. And then they say with pride: “We made the hardening track ourselves.”

Thus, we also solve various educational tasks in the process of preparing and using the next massage track or rug.

In our work we use the following types of massage mats.

  • Sponge massage mat. The mat is represented by foam rubber sponges of different sizes and density, which contributes to a different effect on the foot. The rug can be long or square. The basis for such a rug can be a piece of linoleum, plywood or carpet. The size is chosen arbitrarily, but taking into account the ability to walk at least 3 meters. You can walk forward and backward or around the perimeter.
  • Comprehensive massage mat. The rug is decorated with improvised means (used felt-tip pens, rubber squares, covers, pebbles, etc.). Such a rug strengthens the muscles and ligaments of the lower leg and foot, promotes the proper functioning of internal organs by massaging the active points of the foot, and also gives children unusual sensations.

  • Health path. Such a track not only helps to prevent flat feet, but also develops the child's attention, stability, correct foot placement when walking, and improves coordination of movements.

To complete this path, you can use softer materials: bundles and ropes of different thicknesses, oilcloth traces and buttons of different sizes, felt and adhesive film.

When using massage mats and tracks, we do not forget about the emotional mood of the child. It is very important to remember that a preschool child likes to visualize, embody in reality, the images that arise in his mind. We perform voiced actions with our children while driving.

Children are very interested in imagining a fabulous road in which they need to overcome various obstacles (downhill, swimming across rivers, running along a rocky road).
